Pitt has hosted several prospects on campus for unofficial visits so far this fall and has continued to offer prospects throughout the current high school classes.

Let’s check out the latest on the Pitt hoops recruiting scene in this recruiting recap.

AKBAR WAHEED III

The focus of the weekend around the program was Akbar Waheed III, a 6-foot-6 guard/wing out of the DMV area who visited unofficially. Waheed picked up an offer while on campus.

AMDY NDIAYE

Earlier in the week, the Panthers’ staff offered 2024 prospect Amdy Ndiaye, a 6-foot-10, 210-pound forward out of Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut. Ndiaye does not hold any other high major offers and has taken visits to Rutgers and Saint Bonaventure so far.

Pitt has offered two other uncommitted forwards in the 2024 class.

NIKO BUNDALO

According to Jake Weingarten of Stock Risers, a Pitt staff member visited Niko Bundalo at Western Reserve Academy late last week. Bundalo is a 6-foot-9 stretch forward who received an offer from the Panthers in July.

ALIER MALUK

Weingarten also reported that Pitt was in Glen Head, NY to check out Long Island Lutheran’s Alier Maluk. Maluk, the former Imani Christian (Pittsburgh) standout, transferred to the basketball powerhouse earlier this year, leaving the WPIAL to play a national schedule.

DEREK DIXON

Dixon visited Pitt two weekends ago, taking his second trip to Pittsburgh to meet with the staff and check out the facilities once again. Dixon is a four-star shooting guard out of Washington D.C. who plays for hoops powerhouse Gonzaga. He is in the class of 2025.
