On Thursday, former Imani Christian forward Alier Maluk included Pitt in his top five along with LSU, Florida State, Oregon, and Ohio State.

Maluk is now at Long Island Lutheran playing high-level hoops in New York for his junior season. He has been on Pitt’s campus a number of times since entering high school and living in Baldwin over the past few years. Maluk has taken numerous visits, has been to many Pitt games, and has played high-school games at Pitt’s Petersen Events Center.

Maluk recently took an official visit to Florida State. Maluk is listed as a 6-foot-9 power forward on 247 Sports and is ranked as the No. 35 player in the country according to the site’s composite rankings.

Maluk has held an offer from Pitt all the way since August 25, 2021 before he began his freshman season at Imani.

This past summer, on the first day that he was allowed to hear directly from college coaches. On that night, the first call he received was from Pitt assistant coach Jason Capel.
